On June 26, the “Finest Cultural Gifts from China” Cultural and Tourism Trade Promotion Activity (Special Session for China-chic Cultural and Creative Products) was held in Guangzhou, Guangdong. The event was conducted both online and offline, with live coverage through text, images, and video on domestic and international platforms, reaching a total audience of over 1.55 million, including nearly 790,000 viewers from abroad.
Guided by the Department of Industry Development, Ministry of Culture and Tourism and hosted by the Department of Culture and Tourism of Guangdong Province, this event was organized by the Guangzhou Municipal Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism Bureau, the National Base for International Cultural Trade (Guangzhou), China Tourism News, and the Institute for Creative Industry Technology, Renmin University of China. It aims to leverage both domestic and international, online and offline resources to showcase, promote, and sell a batch of exceptional China-chic cultural and creative products with distinct Chinese characteristics and styles. It seeks to present the unique charm of “China creation” to the world and to boost the high-quality development of China’s international cultural trade.
The event featured 418 products, inbound tourism routes, and destinations submitted by 204 organizations from 12 provinces (districts and municipalities). A corresponding product manual was also prepared. Meanwhile, a special exhibition on “Culture Going Global” at the event showcased leading cultural enterprises and China-chic cultural and creative products from across the country, actively connecting businesses for collaboration opportunities.
At the event, four organizations held product roadshows featuring highlights such as ZIYULI dolls, the “Long Sheng Jiu Zi” dolls, the “Xi Shang Mei Shao” folk art-inspired accessories, and the “Yue Yun Zhen Cui” Cantonese-style fine jewelry collection. Another four organizations introduced curated travel routes, including the Chao Yun Tongzhou Cultural Tour “Journey Through Time” , the “Inheriting Porcelain Legacy” –– an immersive Jingdezhen intangible cultural heritage tour, a three-day deep exploration of Chaozhou Old Town, and the “Dong Dong Qiang — Exploring Intangible Cultural Heritage Amid the Water Charm of Overseas Chinese Hometowns”. The event also featured an open networking session, fostering discussions on the innovation and development of the China-chic culture.
Various guests were present at the event, including officials from the Department of Industry Development of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Department of Trade in Services of the Ministry of Commerce, heads of administrative departments of culture and tourism from some provinces (districts and municipalities), and representatives from related cultural and tourism enterprises, financial institutions, National Base for International Cultural Trade, experts, and media outlets.
It is understood that by integrating domestic and international resources as well as online and offline resources, the “Finest Cultural Gifts from China” Cultural and Tourism Trade Promotion Activity seeks to showcase, promote, and trade high-quality cultural and tourism products with distinct Chinese characteristics and styles that are well-received in the international market. It strives to build a platform for exchange and cooperation between Chinese and foreign enterprises, expanding the cultural trade scale and optimizing the structure. Ultimately, the activity aims to boost the international competitiveness and popularity of Chinese enterprises and brands. Fourteen special sessions have been held for the “Finest Cultural Gifts from China” Cultural and Tourism Trade Promotion Activity, which were all met with overwhelming responses and have produced remarkable results.
