Taco Bell’s menu is set to receive an exciting infusion of new items, including the return of a beloved fan favorite.

Taco Bell is shaking up its menu with a slew of exciting new items, and one beloved favorite is making a comeback. Unlike its competitors, Taco Bell doesn’t follow the conventional approach of introducing one new item at a time; instead, they keep their customers guessing by making unexpected menu additions.

While rivals like Chipotle Mexican Grill typically introduce new protein variants sparingly, Taco Bell takes a more unpredictable route. Sometimes, they unveil new menu items well in advance, while other times, they quietly add items without much fanfare. This unique strategy generates social media buzz and always gives fans a reason to visit.

Taco Bell’s flexible menu allows them to incorporate a single new ingredient into multiple products, enabling them to introduce a variety of new items without overcomplicating their kitchen operations. In their latest move, Taco Bell is combining elements from their past strategies with something new. They’re announcing the debut of some new items and bringing back a popular twist on a McDonald’s classic, all on the same day.

Taco Bell enthusiasts should mark two dates on their calendars. On September 7th, the chain will unveil a range of new menu items, promising “more limited goodness in one month than some chains do in a year,” according to the Snackolator Instagram page. The additions to the menu include:

  1. Rolled Chicken Tacos with a choice of dip
  2. Strawberry Creme Delight Freeze
  3. $2 Chicken Enchilada Burrito
  4. Cheesy Jalapeno Mexican Pizza
  5. Strawberry Twists

But that’s not all for Taco Bell in September. On September 28th, they plan to reintroduce their famous Nacho Fries, now available in a new large-size option.

Taco Bell’s Nacho Fries are a prime example of their unique approach compared to fast-food rivals. These fries incorporate spices commonly used in Mexican cuisine, while the nacho cheese sauce adds a twist not found at McDonald’s or Burger King.

Following Taco Bell’s lead, Wendy’s also offers a variety of seasonal cheese fries options in addition to their popular Baconator Cheese Fries.

Taco Bell is following in the footsteps of McDonald’s by making substantial investments in its digital ordering capabilities. This strategic move was emphasized by Yum Brands CEO David Gibbs during the chain’s second-quarter earnings call.

Gibbs stated, “Our unique digital capabilities, which facilitate smoother experiences and greater accessibility to our iconic brands, continue to drive additional sales through increased spending and frequency, leading to greater profitability across our system. On that note, I’m delighted to report another quarter of impressive double-digit growth, resulting in $7 billion in digital sales, which now constitute more than 45% of our global system sales.”

Gibbs also highlighted Taco Bell’s collaboration with the renowned Taco Tuesday enthusiast, LeBron James, saying, “During this quarter, our team launched a groundbreaking campaign to celebrate Taco Tuesday on a global scale, spanning 19 markets. This campaign featured a partnership with the globally recognized icon, LeBron James. It generated substantial brand excitement, with engagement and mentions within a single week surpassing the entire success of last year’s highly acclaimed Mexican pizza relaunch.”
